I know this subject isn’t popular nowadays, but here it is. And keep in mind, this is my humble opinion.
Self-love is out of control. It’s more than likely that you have probably “loved” on yourself enough. You don’t need another mani/Pedi. You don’t need another massage. You don’t need new fingernails. You don’t need another pair of shoes or that new hat. You don’t need a new vehicle or home. Don’t buy the Gucci belt with the distinctive buckle. Nobody cares about that. At least, people with character don’t care.
The problem with our society isn’t a lack of loving yourself; it’s a lack of loving your neighbor as yourself. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had a problem loving myself. It comes naturally. The next time someone scares you, notice what you do. You have an immediate, natural fight or flight response. Both of which will protect you. You are naturally designed to love yourself. The problem in our society right now is us not loving others as we love ourselves.
The only way to make yourself feel good and whole is to love someone else a little bit more.
You want to rant and rave about how they aren’t treating you right, but maybe it’s a “reaping what you sow” kind of situation.
But here’s a news flash: Not everyone is going to treat you right. You’re not going to get along with everybody. And that’s okay.
It’s a lot easier to deal with, though, when we’re all trying to love each other no matter our differences.
Do you want to make life easier? Start loving a little bit more.
We’ve got a world full of small-hearted Grinches and not enough Cindy Lous to make up the difference.
Do you want to world to change? Change yourself. It’s amazing what changing you will do to the rest of the world. Or at least how you see the rest of the world.
They still won’t treat you well? They have to live with them. You have to live with you.
If you want all that stuff…the massage, the glitz, and the glue holding body parts together…fine. But don’t try to make that the source of your happiness.
True joy is found when we give a little bit of ourselves away to our neighbors who are in need a heaping helping of love.
to those who need to love on someone else for a change,
– Caleb
