The Chill

Do you miss the Summer season? Why don’t we take a drive down a country road? We’ll see the green canopy of trees over a dirt road. We’ll watch as the evening sun sets over a field of distant cattle grazing. You will see deer running away as we approach.

Don’t worry, we’ll take our vehicle. We’ll pay for the gas. And you won’t have to worry about your car getting dusty. Or rocks getting stuck in the tire’s tread.

I’m a little weary of the chilly weather. It’s getting into my bones. But I don’t want to wish the Winter away.

There’s a time and a reason for everything. Even the cold weather.

There’s a type of acorn, I think it’s the red oak acorn, that needs to go through cold weather to sprout successfully in the Spring. It’s called cold stratification.

Are you in a wintry season of your life? You might be in a season of dormancy, where you’re not seeing much growth. Maybe you need to go through this time of life so that, later on, when it’s time to grow, you will be in a much better position, and you will be able to grow without limitations into the mighty man or woman that God intended you to be.

But until then, here’s a drive down a dirt road in the middle of summer to help alleviate the chill you feel.
I hope you don’t get car sick…

to those who need some warmth,
– Caleb
