Finances weren’t where he wanted them to be. He was doing his best. He took on one more job and kept praying.
He was spending most of his time working. He wanted to be at home this evening. His family was home, and his wife was probably getting the boys to bed.
He thought of the future and couldn’t wait to have the money to pay all the bills, have more time with his growing family, and be able to take a vacation with them.
It was a season of hard times. And like seasons do, it passed.
Then came the season of good times. And it passed, too.
And seasons are never the same. A good season comes along, but not the same as the previous good one. A tough season comes along, and it’s different, too. None of them are ever precisely the same.
Some are harder, some not as hard. Some are good, others not as good.
As far as the four seasons on Earth are concerned, some people like the winter more. To others, winter is hard to get through. The cold seeps down into their bones.
Some people consider summer heat the degeneration of all that is good and right. Sometimes I go outside in the afternoon to soak it in. I love the heat.
What happens when we understand that all types of seasons are beneficial in drastically different areas of life?
We begin to be more accepting of what was once a nuisance. And learn how to live with it while we’ve got it. Because it will pass.
What he learned was to make the most of every season, no matter how good or bad.
No matter where you are, do what you can. Keep going.
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
