Ross Dress for Less is the best store to come to this world in the past several years.
I don’t buy much of anything at retail prices anymore. There’s no sense in it. Why would I do that when I can buy $200 basketball shoes for $50? There are some exceptions, like work boots. I’ve never found a discounted pair of boots.
In 2018, I bought a brand new pair of Nikes for $20. They are just now giving up. The soles are smooth and have begun to separate from the remainder of the shoe. But I’ll probably keep wearing them until they have holes in them.
I’ve searched far and wide, but they don’t send size 17 or 18 shoes to stores nowadays. I went to the Ross and looked in the 13+ section. There was nothing. Then I looked down at the bottom shelf near the floor.
I could tell just by looking at them that they were big enough. I just hoped they weren’t size 20. And they weren’t. They were MY size.
A basketball player just put out a brand new shoe called the XX. His last name rhymes with Games. His first name rhymes with LeCron. I don’t know much about him, but these shoes are sturdy and comfortable.
People like me can’t be picky. I like shoes that are black. But I usually find shoes that are burgundy, neon yellow, or mostly white.
These discounted shoes are perfect and brand new. But there’s a little spot on the back of the sole that looks like someone scraped it somehow. I can live with that. Even though they’re mostly white, I was so grateful. I couldn’t believe I had found these boats.
When I wore them into a store for the first time, I stopped suddenly to look at something and just about fell over. With my current shoes, I’d slide a little if I stopped suddenly, which I’ve gotten used to. These new shoes have a good grip that I wasn’t used to.
I had been saving and planning to buy shoes that cost at least $125. I couldn’t find them in my size any cheaper than that until I found these basketball shoes.
This might surprise some people, but I don’t play much basketball. I used to shoot around outside growing up. Sometimes we’d go to the courts at the park, but other than that, I can’t remember the last time I played.
My favorite games are cornhole, pickle ball, volleyball, and any kind of trivia board game I can find.
I think these shoes would help me toss a mean cornhole bag. I was going to say maybe they’d help me jump to block or spike a volleyball, but I don’t usually need to jump for that.
It sure is nice to find shoes that fit my budget and my feet.
to all the other ‘Bigfoots’ out there,
