In the Garden

I don’t want to ruin a good post with a video of me singing. But here it goes.

Have you ever been outside in the early morning with the dew still fresh and undisturbed on the grass? Nothing has come along to take away the freshness of the morning.

Have you ever seen the dew drops collected within a leaf on the ground forming the perfect little pool? Just me? Yeah, I admit it. I’ve laid down on the dewy grass to take a picture of such a thing. I may post it in the comments if I can find it.

This song describes a person who has come to an undisturbed garden. The dew is still fresh, it hasn’t evaporated yet. It hasn’t been trampled on. The person came alone, but Someone else showed up to be with them.

It’s a beautiful picture of someone who has sweet fellowship with God. They are coming alone to the early morning meeting to talk to the One Who created them.

They don’t bring their worries, cares, troubles, or thoughts. They just bring themselves.

Oh, sure, we can cast all our cares upon Jesus. Absolutely. He wants to take all of your burdens. You don’t have to carry them.

But if you’ll take them off at the entrance to the garden of sweet communion with Him, He’ll pick them up as He leaves. Just leave your worries at the gate.

Come into the garden and talk with Him awhile. He’ll take all your burdens, don’t worry about that.

Just commune with Him. Just tell Him how much you love Him, and let Him remind you of His love. The second verse says, “He speaks, and the sound of His voice is so sweet, the birds hush their singing. And the melody that He gave to me, within my heart is ringing.”

A daily, quiet, undisturbed, fresh experience with God will make a difference in your life.

And it is a precious thing to be with and enjoy the presence of Almighty God.

to those who need some peace and quietness,
– Caleb
