Happy Mother’s Day

Mothers.

We wouldn’t be here without them. And we wouldn’t survive without them.

I don’t provide the same level of comfort that my wife gives. And I know my dad didn’t (no offense to him.)

There’s just something about a momma.
They nourish, comfort, and protect.

I saw a video the other day of a momma hawk in her nest. And the sky was spewing forth hailstones.

The poor mommy bird was laying atop the eggs in the nest with her wings outstretched.

She received every jolting pummel willingly, all to protect those fragile eggs.

That’s what a mother does. And most of the time, the children never realize it.

King Lemuel had this to say about a good mother: “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” He also said, “The value of a virtuous woman is far above rubies.” If you don’t like what he had to say about women, please take it up with his HR department. I’ll link their email here. Or here. Maybe here. Hmm, the link seems to be outdated and out of order. Oh well, I tried.

According to my (limited) research, a perfect, top-grade Ruby gemstone’s worth today starts at $935,000 and can go up to $1,400,000.

I’m thankful for my mother. And I’m grateful for the mother my wife is to our children. They are worth a trillion times more than all the rubies in the world.

Happy Mother’s Day to them and all of the Mothers out there.

to the Mothers,
– Caleb
