On the way home from church tonight, we were, once again, listening to Sirius XM Enlighten.
The Collingsworth Family were singing
“Not one Word of God has changed
Every promise still remains
Who He was, He is today
Not one Word of God has changed.”
Son #2, if he doesn’t know the words to the song on the radio, will sing along using the lyrics to a song he knows.
Tonight, his lyrics of choice were “I have decided to follow Jesus.”
The melodies of the two songs don’t quite match.
So we turned down the radio and let him sing to his heart’s content. Then I tried to sing along with him.
“Dada, NOOOO!”
He must not like my singing.
The same goes for his brother. Son #1 doesn’t believe it’s acceptable for us to sing with him. If he’s singing, and we try to join in, it’s Katy bar the door. He must sing solo.
Tonight, Momma, Son #1, and I tried to join in with him, which resulted in a screaming, fighting fit of rage in the back seat between the two brothers. Then Son #3 started singing his sad song that we couldn’t quite make out, but we were convinced of the severity of whatever it was that was bothering him.
The foray of noise was so vociferous that we had to deal with it immediately.
So we turned up the Collingsworth Family.
