The Ignorant and Indifferent

One thing:

I’m exhausted from being ridiculed by other drivers who are unaware of stop sign placement.

Let me speak slowly:
Those who drive down the road between the Community First Bank and the Murphy gas station to our local Walmart do not have to stop at the intersection by the Shoe Sensation.

There isn’t a stop sign for East-to-West traffic.

Stop blaring your horns and pointing your blessed little ignorant fingers in my direction.

Open your eyes. East to West traffic does not have to stop.

There’s only a stop sign for those traveling north and south. If you are traveling from the stop light at McDonald’s on Preacher Roe Boulevard to Walmart, do not, let me repeat, DO NOT stop at the intersection by Shoe Sensation.

UNLESS you are turning to travel North to Sally’s Makeup or you are turning South to Harbor Freight and Big Lots. Then, you can slow down or stop as traffic demands.

But the through traffic from the highway to the big concrete block blue logo box store does not need to stop.

Why? Again, because there is not a stop sign.

I know that those from elsewhere in the country might not know the specifics of what I’m talking about, but I’m sure you get my drift. There are people in your community who do the same thing. Yell at others in ignorance.

If you pull out in front of me and think you’ll win the court case because I “didn’t stop at the stop sign,” the fault will be your own.

I am not complaining. I am giving you a heads-up.

You may want to take into account that that intersection is only a two-way stop.

I can’t count the amount of times someone has tried to pull out in front of me and then offered me a demeaning gesture when I didn’t stop.

On the other hand, stop stopping at the intersection if you’re coming from the Preacher Roe stop light. Don’t stop at the intersection if you are coming from Walmart.

If you’re not turning North or South, keep going.

This post may not be for anyone who normally reads them, but if you share it, maybe it’ll reach the right people.

If you don’t see a stop sign, it’s more than likely you don’t have to stop. Quit getting mad at people for doing what they’re supposed to do.

I know. It’s hard to grasp. But we’ll get there.

And if you don’t quite get it, please stop driving.

Thank you.

to whoever you are,
– Caleb
