The Unconventional Bath

Recently, Charity gave Son #3 a bath. Thankfully, this happens quite often, but this particular time was significant.

The majority of the time, Charity utilizes the bathtub for cleaning the children, but that night, she decided to use the sink. Son #3 just turned five months, so he is still small enough to A) fit in the sink and B) not remember it.

This is the case for Son #1 and Son #2. They don’t fit anymore, nor do they remember it ever happening.

This is why when Charity used the sink for Son #3, Son #1 took notice and desired to take a bath along with Son #3.

“Mommy! That’s awesome! I want to take a bath up there, too!”

Charity informed him, “No, you can’t take a bath with Son #3. True, we have a double sink, but there still isn’t enough room.”

He relented. Charity finished bathing Son #3 and took him to the bedroom to put on his pajamas.

She returned to the kitchen moments later.

She had left the water in the sink.

She turned the corner and saw a troubling sight.

Son #1 was in the sink. Legs hanging over the side. Arms clasped behind his head.

And he was dressed entirely head to toe in his birthday suit.

At some point, the soapy water decided to exit the sink. It exited all over the floor and counters, no thanks to Son #1.

“Oh, mom!” He exclaimed. “This is wonderful!”

He leaned his head back against the window and sighed. “Can we start taking baths in the sink every time?”

Of course, Son #2 wasn’t going to let his brothers have all the fun. He started begging for a bath in the sink.

Well, at least now the floor is clean, the counters are sparkling, and the boys have clean midsections.
