The Drive-In

I don’t have a problem with big, successful corporations, but it saddens me when mom-and-pop businesses stop operating because they can’t compete.

I used to work at Suds N, formerly known as Dog N’ Suds. It was located at 301 W Broadway.

They had scrumptious burgers. There was a burger called the Double Decker. From time to time, I still crave that burger. I haven’t ever found a burger that tasted like that one.

Their fries were hard to beat. I’ve come across a few places that had fries that tasted as good, but rarely.

The Cheddar Cubes were to live for. If you had nothing else going for you, they made your day better. The only other place I’ve found those exact Cheddar Cubes is in Eminence, MO. We meander up there from time to time.

It’s worth the drive.

There was a chicken sandwich called the Chicken Delight. We also had a Jumbo Chicken Delight. And, as you might guess by the name, it was delightful. The only other chicken sandwich we needed was a spicy one called the Spicy Chicken Delight. We would’ve been set.

There are other things I miss about Suds N, and I may write about them in the future.

But until then, let’s just lean back in our recliners and remember the good old days.

I’ll leave some pictures in the comments.
