The Little Drummers

Charity and I are not complex individuals. We don’t require much to keep us happy. I would dare say that Contentment is one of our strongest characteristics.

That said, there is one thing we’d like to receive as a gift from our children.

All we ask for is ten minutes.

There hasn’t been a time in the last four years when we could utilize the sit-down option of the white porcelain component in the water closet in peace, without any interruptions.

Son #1 has turned into quite the little drummer boy since Christmas. Somebody dared to buy him drumsticks.

Three years ago, somebody bought him a pair of drumsticks, and it was just this past year when we finally discovered a successful hiding spot where he couldn’t find them.

Then, Christmas rolled around, and someone who allegedly thought our house with three boys was too quiet bought him another pair.

We’ve had several instances when we were incapacitated upon the white porcelain, and they assembled at the door, drumming up a storm.

Jesus, give us strength.

And if He doesn’t, I may have to resort to building the family a little campfire outside.

Of course, I would need kindling. And it just so happens that there are only two options nearby that I can think of.

to the constant rum-pum-pum-pum,

Wooden spoons and pan lids – does the trick, you could have a whole band!
